I have just finished reading The Diamond of Drury Lane by Julia Golding.

It has had mixed reviews but I thought it was very good.

It was about a orphan who gets taken in by a theatre owner and she is told to look after a diamond, though she doesn't know where it is.

The story came together really well and the main character ended up in load's of different situations.

I agree Scott! The author had a lot of wit, or sarcasm, in the book, and the film really didn't have that.
However I did like how the film used drab colours for the costumes and sets to mirror the misery and dim and dismal life and places in the books.
Overall though, the book is by far the best!

I read Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events and really enjoyed them. The books had a lot more detail and adventure than the movie. You didn't really get all the humour the book has in the film. The film was OK, but no way as good as the book.
1-nil to Books i reckon!

I'm currently reading Flowers in the Attic by Virgina Andrews. It's really addictive and makes you want to read on and on, but the plot can be quite confusing as it's so complicated.

I read The Penalty by Mal Peet.

I would rate it 6/10.

The plot was good and he setted the scene very well but the

setting kept changing which was very confusing.

The book I have read is Set In Stone by Linda Newbery. I think it is probably a very good book, but I found it hard to get into. The whole four chapters I did read where alright actually, however once I had put the book down I didn't really feel all too eager to pick it up again. It is about a young artist who goes to teach two young girls in the countryside in a very rich house. Apparently there is a 'web of deception' in the house and something else happens which I don't know about.
