Ava recently spent the weekend at a dog rescue centre, Halfway Home Dog Rescue in Newark, Nottingham. Ava's mum is a trustee with a charity called Ever More Dog Rescue, and they send a number of dogs per month to Newark for rehoming.
Ava’s main role throughout the weekend was ‘child-testing’ the dogs so that Halfway Home could promote them for adoption. Ava has a gentle calmness that the dogs really responded to.
It was a long weekend, but one both mum and daughter want to repeat.
Some background .........
Ava assisted in socialising the puppies and being involved in promotional adoption material. The puppies were found on the side of the road near Bacau, and have had limited interaction with people.
Each month, the rescue reserves and transports 6 dogs from a public shelter in Romania. Without help of the rescue, these dogs have an uncertain future.
Well done Ava and thank you for using your spare time to undertake such charitable work.
